Where Great Roads, Great Cars, And Great People Come Together

VU Events was founded by Alex Haugland, Amy Haugland, and Joe Potter around a simple idea: cars are meant to be driven, experienced, and enjoyed with other people.


Based in Eugene, Oregon, VU Events creates driving experiences that bring people together on beautiful roads and give them a reason to spend time with the cars they love.


We believe the best memories aren't always about where you stay or what you are served. They're about the road you took to get there, the people you met along the way, the conversations at the stops, and the stories you take home.

Our Story

VU Events was born from countless conversations centered on a common desire — not just to own remarkable automobiles, but to experience them as they were intended.


The founders envisioned something beyond the traditional car show or concours. They imagined spirited drives through beautiful landscapes, time spent sharing stories with fellow enthusiasts, and memorable adventures built around the cars we all love.


That vision became VU Events.


Every route is thoughtfully selected. Every destination is planned with purpose. Every gathering is an opportunity to bring people together.

Vintage Underground

VU Events grew from the automotive experience of Vintage Underground, based in Eugene, Oregon.



The Vintage Underground team includes nearly 30 skilled artisans who restore, preserve, and reimagine remarkable automobiles. That experience gives VU Events a strong foundation in automotive craftsmanship and practical support on the road.

Supporting The Next Generation Of Restorers

VU Events was founded in part with a desire to support the future of automotive restoration.


We work with McPherson College's Automotive Restoration program, the only four-year college program in the country dedicated to an automotive restoration degree.


Each summer, VU Events brings student interns into the organization to give them practical experience while helping support their education and development. We began with one intern in our first year, brought on two the following year, and hope to continue growing the program.


VU Events pays and provides housing for our student interns during their summer experience. As the events grow, we also hope that net proceeds can provide additional support to the college and its restoration program.

Our mission is to create memorable driving experiences that celebrate the heritage, craftsmanship, and enjoyment of automobiles while building a welcoming community of enthusiasts, restorers, drivers, and adventurers.
